Tipton Honors Law Enforcement

Congressman Scott Tipton passed two bills through the US House on Friday to honor fallen western Colorado law enforcement. One bill will rename a Montrose post office the “Sergeant David Kinterknecht Post Office” while the other renames the downtown Grand Junction post office the “Deputy Sheriff Derek Geer Post Office building.” 41 year old David Kinterknecht died on On July 25, 2009, after responding with other officers to a domestic violence call that turned into a standoff. Deputy Geer died February 8th of 2016 while confronting a 17 year old male with a gun in Grand Junction.
