State House Committee To Hear Bill On Electoral Votes Today

Colorado Republicans are against a bill that would tie the award of the state’s Electoral College votes in presidential elections to the winner of the popular vote. State GOP leaders have asked opponents of the bill to come to Denver today to testify against it during a meeting of the House Committee on State, Veterans and Military Affairs. Republicans say the bill goes against the U.S. Constitution and could rob Coloradans of their voice in presidential elections. The bill would go into effect if states that account for the 270 Electoral College votes sign on to the agreement.
