>>Nuggets Top Blazers

(Denver, CO)  —  The Nuggets great first-half continues to be driven by their two stars, Nikola Jokic  [[ KNEE-coe-lah yo-kitch ]] and Jamal Murray, as they led the charge to beat the Trailblazers 116-113 at the Pepsi Center.  Jokic went for 40 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists and Murray added 24 points in the win.  Denver has won three of four and sit atop the West with a 29-and-13 record. Denver sits a half-game ahead of the Warriors, who they face tomorrow in the Mile High City.

>>Avalanche Take On Leafs Tonight

(Toronto, Ontario)  — Colorado’s trudge through the Great White North continues tonight, as they visit the Maple Leafs in Toronto.  The Avs have dropped the first three games of their Canadian road trip.  The Avalanche continue to sit at 48 points, as they’ve garnered just four points in their last 10 games, going 1-7-and-2.

>>Rockies, Arenado Still Negotiating, Story Avoids Arbitration

(Denver, CO)  —  The Rockies did not reach a settlement on a one-year deal with arbitration-eligible third baseman Nolan Arenado on Friday.  However, sources told ESPN the two sides could settle before the hearing on a contract valued around 27 million dollars.  Arenado led the National League in homers last season with 38 and was second in RBI with 110.  Meanwhile, Colorado did come to an agreement with shortstop Trevor Story.  Story, who made five hundred fifty five thousand dollars last season, settled on a five million dollar salary for 2019.  The 26 year old had 37 home runs, 108 RBI, and 27 stolen bases in 2018.

(Undated)  —  On the hardwood, Colorado fell to Washington 77-70 in Boulder Saturday.  The Buffaloes will travel to Salt Lake City to meet Utah on Sunday.  Colorado is 10-and-6 and 1-and-3 in conference.  The Rams beat New Mexico 97-76 on Saturday to pull to 2-and-2 in the Mountain West.  Colorado State will travel to Logan on Saturday to take on Utah State.  Air Force topped San Diego State, 62-48.  The Falcons will welcome UNLV to Colorado Springs on Wednesday before traveling to Reno to face 11th ranked Nevada on Saturday.  Denver will host North Dakota State on Wednesday.  The Pioneers have lost six-straight games.

>>Former Broncos Head Coach Vance Joseph Joins Arizona As Defensive Coordinator

(Tempe, AZ)  — Former Broncos head coach Vance Joseph has been hired as the Cardinals’ defensive coordinator.  Joseph was fired at the end of the 2018 season after going 11-and-21 in two seasons at the helm of the Broncos.  Joseph, an alumnus of the University of Colorado, also spent five years at the school as a graduate assistant and later the defensive backs coach.

>>Rapids Take Denver Forward In SuperDraft

(Chicago, IL)  —  Colorado traded up with the Chicago Fire to draft Andre Shinyashiki  [[ Shin-YA-shiki ]], a forward out of the University of Denver, fifth overall in the MLS SuperDraft.  Shinyashiki scored 28 goals in 2018 for the Pioneers to lead all Division One players.  In the second round, the Rapids picked defender Marcello Borges [[ Mar-sell-oh BORG-us ]]  from Michigan and defender Jacob Hauser-Ramsey from UConn.  Another local, Tucker Bone, was selected by Seattle with the 20th overall pick.  Bone played his collegiate ball at the Air Force Academy.  In other Rapids news, the team signed veteran midfielder Benny Feilhaber [[ FILL-hay-ber ]] as a free agent.  He has played his last eight seasons in the MLS, primarily with Sporting Kansas City, and most recently with LAFC.
