>>Broncos Hire Fangio For Top Job

(Englewood, CO)  —  The Broncos have hired Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio as their new head coach.  The Bears’ defense, led by Fangio, gave up the fewest points and rushing yards in 2018.  He will become the Broncos’ fourth head coach in the last six seasons.  The 60-year-old will sign a four-year deal with the franchise that includes a team option for a fifth year.

>>Avs Flame Out In Calgary

(Calgary, Alberta)  —  Calgary had just 15 shots in the game, but Avs goalie Semyon Varlamov [[ sehm-YAWN  vahr-LAH-mawv ]] only managed to stop 11 of them as the Flames won 5-3 at the Saddledome.  Nate MacKinnon scored his 26th on the season in the first period and captain Gabriel Landeskog added two assists for Colorado.   The Avs have really stalled out since the start of December, compiling only 13 points in 18 games.  They have 48 points on the season.

>>Nuggets Host Hot-Shooting Clippers Tonight

(Denver, CO)  —  The West-leading Nuggets welcome the hot-shooting Clippers to the Pepsi Center tonight.  Denver has won seven of its last eight games, including a 103-99 victory over the Heat last time out.  The 24-and-16 Clippers are averaging 116 points per game this season, which is good for fourth in the league.  The Nuggets lead the Warriors by one game in the West at 27-and-12.

>>College Basketball Roundup

(Undated)  —  On the hardwood, Colorado will resume Pac-12 play when they host Washington State tonight.  The Buffaloes are 9-and-5 and 0-and-2 in conference.  Also in action tonight, Denver will visit South Dakota State.  Colorado State will face New Mexico on Saturday afternoon while the Falcons will take on San Diego State in Colorado Springs.
