Sheriff Candidate Wants to Combine Dispatch Centers

Montrose Police Commander and Montrose County Sheriff candidate Gene Lillard says if elected Sheriff, he’d like to merge the Western Colorado Regional Dispatch Center (WESCO) and the Montrose County Regional Dispatch Center in an effort to improve communication between city police and county deputies.

The city of Montrose decided in 2016 to form their own dispatch center after the county raised user fees.

Gene Lillard is running as against Montrose County Undersheriff Adam Murdie and Seargeant Justin Westbrook of the Montrose County Sheriff’s office for the Republican nomination.
