Possible Enterovirus Outbreak

The Colorado health department is warning parents about a possible outbreak of a rare strain of enterovirus. Health officials say 41 children have suffered neurological complications due to the A-71 enterovirus this year. The virus strain can cause meningitis, encephalitis and other illnesses in children. While there is no vaccination or treatment for the virus, children who are infected may need to be hospitalized for treatment of the symptoms it causes.
