Local Governments May Get More Control on Nicotine

Legislation that would allow local governments in Colorado to create their own laws for all nicotine products has passed a full vote in the State House. Supporters of House Bill 1033 say the proposed law is necessary as e-cigarettes become more popular among teens. Opponents say it opens Colorado up to a patchwork of local laws involving nicotine products and unfairly hurts smaller businesses. The bill will have a third reading in the House before it gets sent to the Senate.
