Internet Child Sex Crimes Spike

Internet child sex crimes have nearly doubled in Colorado in the last three years. According to the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force statistics there has been an 83 percent increase in child exploitation online since 2016. Officials on the task force believe the increase has to do with children accessing technology younger, and having easier access to chat apps including Snapchat, kik, meet me, Instagram, and Pinterest, anything with a chat room. Parents are urged to talk to their kids about how to use technology and to not answer questions like “where do you live, where are your parents, or where do you go to school?”
