Blue Mesa At 37% Of Normal

Nearly all the boat ramps and marinas on Blue Mesa Reservoir near Gunnison have closed early this year. The National Parks Service says the water level there has been only about 37% of normal, the lake’s lowest level in more than 30 years. Slip holders got boats out of Colorado’s biggest body of water by last Friday. In a lot of places along Blue Mesa Reservoir, the water got too low for safe launches over the summer.
