Motorists to Encounter Road Work
at Several Locations along CO 145 in SW Colorado
Brief travel impacts north and south of Telluride
SW COLORADO ― Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be performing road work at several locations along Colorado Highway (CO) 145. Beginning today, the operations are expected to take place for much week, Tuesday through Friday, December 5–8.
LOCATIONS ALONG CO 145:
MP 24-25, north of Dolores — geotechnical contract crews will be performing ground drilling and investigating pavement failures for future road stabilization projects.
MP 49-50, north of Rico — geotechnical contract crews will be performing ground drilling and investigating pavement failures for future road stabilization projects.
MP 50–56, just north of Rico — crews will be removing potentially hazardous rocks and boulders from the hillside.
MP 71-77, between Telluride Society Turn Roundabout and Sawpit — crews will be performing shoulder work and drainage repairs
MP 80-84, from Sawpit to the CO 62 Junction — crews will be performing shoulder work.
MP 107-109, between Norwood and Naturita — crews will be performing shoulder work.
HIGHWAY TRAVEL IMPACTS: At all locations work will take place from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., December 5 – 8. Motorists may encounter intermittent lane shifts, closures and brief traffic stops of 15-20 minutes. The traveling public is urged to obey speed reductions of 40 mph through the work zones. Motorists should also be aware of signage, flaggers, maintenance workers and heavy equipment on and along the highway.
