More than 100 new laws went into effect in Colorado August 9th. Notable among the new laws is one that requires a jail term for anyone convicted of multiple felony drunk driving offenses. Even those sentenced to probation will face a minimum jail term of 90 days. People who break into hot cars to save other people or animals are now protected from facing charges, and suspects convicted of stalking or domestic violence will now be held without bail until sentencing. Also, Switchblades are now legal in Colorado. The ban was in place since 1963 because knives were used more as weapons.
