>>Rockies Roll Past Phillies, Re-Take NL West Lead

(Denver, CO)  —  German Marquez [[ hair-MAHN  mar-KEZ ]] struck out 11 through seven scoreless innings as the Rockies clobbered the Phillies 14-0 at Coors Field.  David Dahl, Trevor Story and Ian Desmond homered in a seven-run fifth inning.  Drew Butera also went deep for the Rockies, who have a half-game lead on the Dodgers for the NL West lead.

>>Rockies’ Marquez Sets Franchise Mark In K’s; Ties Another Mark

(Denver, CO)  —  Rockies pitcher German Marquez is rewriting the record books.  With 11 strikeouts last night, Marquez set the single season franchise record with 221 K’s this season.  He surpassed the previous mark of 214 set by Ubaldo Jimenez in 2010.  Marquez also tied a MLB-record by striking out the first eight batters of the game.

>>Rockies Wrap Up Series With Phillies Today

(Denver, CO)  —  The Rockies wrap up their four-game series with the Phillies this afternoon at Coors Field.  Antonio Senzatela will get the start for Colorado.  Philly will counter with Jake Arrieta.

>>Avs Fall To Stars

(Denver, CO)  —  Semyon Varlamov gave up three goals as the Avalanche lost to the Stars 3-1 at the Pepsi Center.  Ty Lewis scored the lone goal for Colorado, which slipped to 1-and-3 in preseason play.  The Avs host Minnesota tomorrow night before wrapping up the exhibition slate on Sunday at Dallas.

>>Nuggets Practice Again

(San Diego, CA)  —   The Nuggets are back on the practice court today in San Diego as they get ready for their preseason opener.  Denver will take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.  The Nuggets will play a total of five exhibition games before the regular season tips off October 17th in LA against the Clippers.

>>Broncos Continue Prep For Chiefs

(Denver, CO)  —  The Broncos continue to gear up for their AFC West battle with the Chiefs.  The rivals will meet on Monday Night Football at Broncos Stadium at Mile High.  The Broncos sit at 2-and-1 after beating the Ravens in Baltimore last Sunday.  KC leads the division at 3-and-0.

>>College Football Preview

((Undated)  —  Colorado is in primetime tomorrow night as the Buffaloes host UCLA to begin Pac-12 play.  The Buffs enter conference play at 3-and-0, while the Bruins sit at 0-and-3.  Meanwhile, Air Force hosts Nevada on Saturday.  Colorado State has the week off.
