>>Grizzlies Nip Nuggets

(Memphis, TN)  —  Marc Gasol sank the go-ahead free throws with 4.6 seconds left as the Grizzlies nipped the Nuggets 89-87 in Memphis.  Gary Harris netted 20 points to pace Denver, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.  The Nuggets are 9-and-2 overall.  Trey Lyles had 16 points and nine boards off the bench in the setback.  The Nuggets open up a four-game homestand tomorrow against Brooklyn.

>>Avs Pounded By Preds

(Denver, CO)  —  Colton Sissons [[ SISS-uns ]] recorded a hat trick to lead the Predators past the Avalanche 4-1 in Denver.  Matt Calvert had the lone goal for the Avs, who have lost four in-a-row.  Semyon Varlamov [[ SEM-yon  var-LAH-mov ]] stopped 30 shots in defeat.  The Avs begin a two-game Canadian road trip tomorrow in Winnipeg.

>>Broncos On Bye Wee

(Englewood, CO)  —  The Broncos are enjoying the week off with their bye.  Denver will return to action a week from Sunday with a visit to LA to play the Chargers.  The 3-and-6 Broncos will play three of their next four games on the road.

(Undated)  —  In college basketball action last night, Colorado State opened the season with a 100-66 rout of Colorado Christian.  Colorado begins its season next week.  Air Force and Denver started with wins on Tuesday.

(Undated)  —  The college locals are gearing up for their next games on the gridiron.  On Saturday, Colorado hosts eighth-ranked Washington State, Colorado State visits Nevada and Air Force entertains New Mexico.
