>>Rockies Rough Up D’backs

(Denver, CO)  —  Ian Desmond drilled a three-run homer in the first inning and a two-run single in the second as the Rockies roughed up the Diamondbacks 19-2 at Coors Field.  Carlos Gonzalez homered twice and drove in six runs for the Rockies, who snapped a two-game skid.  German Marquez also went deep and tossed six innings of two-run ball for the win.

>>Rockies Activate Shaw From DL

(Denver, CO)  —  Rockies pitcher Bryan Shaw is back with the team after being activated from the 10-day disabled list yesterday.  Shaw was out with a right calf strain.  The Rox optioned pitcher Jerry Vasto in a related move.  In other team news, pitcher Zac Rosscup has been claimed off waivers by the Dodgers.

>>Rockies Wrap Up Series With D’backs

(Denver, CO)  —  The Rockies and D’backs wrap up their three-game series today at Coors Field.  Kyle Freeland will take the mound for Colorado.  The Snakes will send out Robbie Ray.

>>Nuggets Lose To Raptors

(Las Vegas, NV)  —  The Nuggets are one and done in the Las Vegas Summer League tournament after an 85-77 loss to the Toronto Raptors.  Monte Morris netted 21 points to lead Denver, which fell to 3-and-1 in Sin City.  The Nuggets will face the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow in a consolation game.

>>Nuggets Sign Second-Round Pick Vanderbilt

(Las Vegas, NV)  —  The Nuggets are locking up second-round draft pick Jarred Vanderbilt with a multi-year contract.  The team has signed Vanderbilt, who was selected with the 41st pick in last month’s NBA Draft out of Kentucky.
