In Montrose County a full-scale emergency exercise will take place at the Montrose Regional Airport August 9th. The tri-annual exercise is part of the airport and county’s emergency operation plan in order to be prepared for any number of incidents and comply with federal guidelines. Community members can expect to see several emergency vehicles in the vicinity of the airport and on the runway as part of this exercise; please do not call 911 or dispatch in relation to the exercise. There will also be an increase in activity at both the County’s Emergency Operation Center (1621 6450 Road) and at Montrose Memorial Hospital.
